Journalism Ranks with Jayvon Rankin

On Jayvon's blog post you can find a good understanding of what journalism SHOULD look like. Jayvon mentions a story he found on WLKY'S website that was "The most unbiased piece I've ever seen." That is pretty big and important. Just like I mentioned about Lily's blog post being unbiased is so important in journalism because being biased and stating your opinion, even with the best evidence doesn't make you a good journalist. It's how you take the views of both sides of the story and turn it into one story that represents both sides. Now there are some stories when there really isn't a side to chose, the right side is pretty obvious and there is no explanation for siding with the opposite story. Now with articles about Gun violence and mass shooting there really isn't a way to side with the shooter because they harm innocent lives. But according to Jayvon and his report on the journalist of the WLKY article she did a great job of balancing, the shooting, details about the shooter, and staying neutral in her writing. The perfect example of good Journalism.
